Welcome to Good Shepherd Lutheran Church. The Son of God, our Lord Jesus, said, "I am the Good Shepherd: the Good Shepherd giveth His life for the sheep." John 10:11 Our congregation was founded on February 13th, 1959 by Pastor Wallace H. McLaughlin, Mr. Herbert Gade, Mr. Adam Hartfiel, Mr. Gene McDonald, and several others.

       We are what is commonly called a "conservative Lutheran church", however, we prefer to say by the grace of God we uphold and yet maintain the pure teachings of Scripture. We treasure our Christian Liberty, the inspiration of Holy Scripture (verbally inspired, word for word from God), recognizing also both the Congregation and Holy Ministry are Divine Institutions created by God. By the preaching and teaching of the Gospel, and the Means of Grace (Baptism and Holy Communion) the Lord grants grace and salvation to sinners, as well as preserving us "in the true faith unto life everlasting." 

       Our doctrine is well stated in the Brief Statement of 1932, as well as the Book of Concord, 1580. Our Confessional position is stated further in this website. Good Shepherd Lutheran Church was originally located in Golden Valley but moved to Corcoran in 1997. We preach Christ crucified and the full truth of His Word. "My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me: And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of My hand" John 10:27-28.
